A Note From the Director With each new day in 2006, the effects of Hurricane Rita
seem to fade a little more. We all
welcome with renewed dedication the regularity of our roles within
Entrepreneurship at As the program grows, so does our success. We celebrate our first Entrepreneurship Scholar in Clark LaFosse, a very bright young man in our MBA program with a bright entrepreneurial future. We look forward to celebrating our student entrepreneurs on campus with our inaugural Student Entrepreneur of the Year Awards this spring. Full-time students currently enrolled with enough entrepreneurial spirit to have already started a business are eligible. We now have an Entrepreneurship Minor for non-business majors on our campus, which allows any student on campus access to top-notch entrepreneurship curriculum and speakers. Our Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the
entrepreneurial development / consulting arm of our program finished a busy
2005. The primary responsibility of
the SBDC is to help clients obtain financing and draft business plans to
launch businesses in our region. To
that end, our consultants spent over 2,800 hours working directly with 319
clients, creating 305 new jobs in We are excited, as always, about the prospects a new year
brings. I am confident that 2006 will
be an exciting year for Entrepreneurship at Entrepreneurially Yours,
