Entrepreneurship Scholarship Recipient – Clark LaFosse

Clark LaFosse is the 2005 recipient of the Bruce Allred Memorial Scholarship in Entrepreneurial Studies, and was selected because of his demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship, as well as his scholastic achievements.

New Entrepreneurship Minor

 

As entrepreneurship curriculum continues to develop at the university level and expand across different disciplines, IES is offering more Lamar University students the opportunity to pursue entrepreneurship education.  Students are increasingly taking advantage of the current entrepreneurship offerings. As a result, IES has developed an 18-hour Entrepreneurship Minor, which will be available to Lamar University students in all disciplines. (Full Story)

 

 


 

 

LU’s 2006 Student Entrepreneur of the Year Competition

 

The Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies started the spring semester off with the 2006 Student Entrepreneur of the Year Competition.  This competition is open to Lamar University students in all disciplines who currently own and operate their own business.  With a generous donation from Student Affairs, a $600 grand prize will be awarded to the winner; while prizes of $300 and $150 will be offered to 2nd and 3rd place finishers.  (Full Story)

 


 

Houston Commissioner and Entrepreneur to Speak at LU on April 4, 2006

Cheryl Thompson-Draper is an accomplished business woman, and a consummate entrepreneur, who is deeply involved in community and charitable organizations.  A native Houstonian, she is only the third woman appointed Commissioner of the Port of Houston Authority. (Full Story)
